Spiced Parsnip and Orange Soup

About the Recipe

Add a zesty twist to your parsnips this winter for this lovely warming soup!


  • 1 onion, diced

  • About 500g parsnips, sliced

  • 1 litre vegetable or chicken stock

  • Juice and zest of 3 oranges

  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

  • 1 tsp sugar

  • 1 pot (300ml) cream

  • Salt and pepper to taste

To serve:


  1. Fry your onions in some oil for 5 minutes before adding your parsnips to the pan. The aim here is to get some nice golden colouring on the parsnips and onion - fry for a further 10 minutes of so.
